Scope and Content
This series contains a record of professional licenses and certificates issued by the State. Among the professions and businesses that required licensing were dentists, midwives, nurses, pharmacists, physicians, accountants, architects, barbers, barber's apprentices, barber shops and schools, embalmers, hairdressers, beauty shops and schools, optometrists, and veterinarians. The records typically include such information as the license number, date, name of licensee, age, place of residence, name of training school, and years of license renewal.
The series contains a single loose photograph of an unidentified man. The photo is stamped with the seal of the Department of Registration and was likely taken as part of the licensing process.
Arrangement
Alphabetical by profession, thereunder chronological by license date.
