Scope and Content
The Utah Historical Quarterly is a journal published quarterly by the Utah State Historical Society since 1928. Mailed to members of the Historical Society, the journal publishes articles on all aspects of Utah history (from prehistory to the present) as well as memoirs, annotated primary sources, book reviews, and photos. Manuscripts are submitted for publication and are reviewed by an editorial staff for appropriateness, completeness, and adherence to guidelines and standards. Issues are 96 pages in length and are published in the Winter (January), Spring (April), Summer (July), and Fall (October).

Complete reference sets of the Utah Historical Quarterly can be found in both the Utah History Research Center as well as most local libraries in the region.
Box 01 contains microfiche copies of the Utah Historical Quarterly. All other boxes in the series contain paper copies of the publication.
The 1999 edition of the Utah Historical Suite CD-ROM provides access to a variety of Utah Historical Society publications in an electronic format. It includes all 29 volumes in the Utah County History Series as well as the first 22 volumes of Beehive History (1975-1996). Electronic versions of the Utah Historical Quarterly present include Volume 01 to Volume 50 (1928-1982) and Volume 63 to Volume 66 (1995-1998). Every publication is keyword searchable.

Custody History
This UHQ set was created from physical paper copies formerly kept in the Utah State Archives staff library and fiche cards from the Archives Research Center. In September 2009 the Utah Historical Society provided additional paper copies to the Archives to help fill gaps in the series.
Access Restrictions
Microfiche holdings require staff assistance due to fewer reference copies. Handle masters under supervision.
