Scope and Content

This series consists of the original map and aperture cards with filmed sections of the map. The Utah resource map was created to help Utahns know what resources were available and where they could be found in the State. The maps were hung in libraries and schools and were also available for sale to the public. The maps displayed all resources from soil to timber and all boundaries within the state.

Processing Note

This series is scheduled under the Utah State Agency General Retention Schedule, schedule 3, item 1, in 1997. Its retention is based on the agency and because the State Archives is permanently storing the records of the agency the map will also be retained permanently. The map was filmed on aperture cards with the original cleaned and retained. This series was processed by Wendy Checketts in 1999. An aperture card plagiarizing the resource map for the Deer Creek Utah Lake Project was removed and stored with the records of the State Board.
