Series 371
Springville (Utah) Cemetery deed records
Dates: 1895-1932.
These records are housed in the Utah State Archives' permanent storage room.
Scope and Content
This series is comprised of a single volume containing copies of deeds issued to purchasers of lots in the Evergreen and Springville City Cemeteries. The deeds are used to document plot ownership. They includes such information as the deed number, purchaser name, date issued, plot description, amount paid, name and signature of the mayor, and a witness date and signature by the city recorder. Inter-filed in the book are a number of other documents, including a sexton's report to the mayor and city council from January 1906. There are also a number of certifications of plot purchases, some of which are associated with a deed in the book and some which are not. In 1932, the city changed its method of selling cemetery plots and ceased issuing cemetery deeds.
Arrangement
Numerical by deed number and chronological by issuing date.

Gaps in Series
The numbering assigned to the deeds in this volume skips from about 170 to 400. Despite this gap in the deed numbers, it appears unlikely that there is a corresponding gap in the recording of deeds.
