Scope and Content

The Legislature charged the Legislative Council with establishing a long-range planning program. They envisioned a coordinated outline of goals which would increase legislative decision making ability through 1) giving direction to State programs, 2) increasing the ability to anticipate problems, 3) creation increased awareness of the problems in order to place them in better perspective and 4) identifying and avoiding areas where duplication exists. Studies were conducted before the comprehensive statements of goals could be formulated.
