Scope and Content
This series contains a volume of pre-printed forms used to record an official copy of certificates of citizenship for applicants who had met the necessary requirements. Applicants were required to file a declaration of intention to apply for citizenship at least two years prior to submitting an application. After the required period had passed, an applicant could file a petition to the court, swear allegiance to the United States, be granted citizenship, and receive a certificate as proof of citizenship. The copy forms record such information as application date, applicant name, place of foreign origin, current place of residence, and the signature of the judge granting citizenship.
Arrangement
Chronological by application date.
