Dates: 1907-1925
These records are housed in the Utah State Archives' permanent storage room.
Scope and Content
This series contains a volume of pre-printed forms provided by the federal Division of Naturalization and used to record applications of individuals to become citizens. Individuals making petition for citizenship would have filed a declaration of intention at least two years prior. In this series the petitioner's copy of his declaration has been attached to the petition. The records in this series contain the petition form, which documents such information as applicant name, current place of residence, date and place of birth, date of arrival in the United States, and the names of wife and children. The form also includes affidavits attesting to the applicant's character, an oath of allegiance signed by the applicant, and an order signed by the judge granting citizenship. Once the order was signed, the applicant could receive a certificate of citizenship.
Arrangement
Chronological by petition date.
