Series 30013Spring City (Utah) City plat map
Dates: 1888
These records are housed in the Utah State Archives' permanent storage room.
Scope and Content
This series contains a city plat map. This map was compiled and plotted in September 1888 by John J. Hougaard, County and City Secretary. It was drawn according to the boundaries existing at the time and includes such information as plat and block numbers, parcel numbers, coordinates, and lines indicating waterways. The map is drawn on linen with ink and is labeled and signed by the author. In 1891, William Blain, city recorder, wrote into the margins the city ordinance that was passed that year recognizing the plat map. The map has also been signed by W. D. Candland, Sanpete County recorder, who included a note to indicate that the map was filed for record in the county offices. The map is roughly 28 inches in length and 20 inches in width.
