Scope and Content
This series contains audit reports compiled annually by a certified public accounting firm for Spring City. Each year, the firms reviewed the city's budget and expenditures and provided analyses of funding, balances, and revenues. Report contains such information as balance sheets, income statements for public utilities funds and other funds, detailed revenues, analyses of expenditures, debts, financial statements, as well as a summary statement or report from the accounting firm that generally included critiques, problems, recommendations, or conclusions noted by the firm. The summary statements, sometimes also labeled management letters, also contain suggestions regarding accounting controls and procedures and compliance requirements. This series also contains the accounting firms' work papers occasionally interspersed with the official reports.
