These records are housed in the Utah State Archives' permanent storage room.
Scope and Content
This series contains records documenting formal actions taken by directors of the State Land Board as discussed and determined at board meetings. The State Land Board was created in 1896 and charged with the responsibility of selling land grants and investing the proceeds for the interest of designated public institutions. In 1957-1958, in response to changes instituted by the Legislature, the Board became an independent agency that oversaw a director who administered and managed its orders, reported and advised on problems, and made recommendations for new actions. The records in this series primarily contain information related to land sales and leases determined by the board.
