Scope and Content
This series contains an alphabetical name index to probate cases heard by the court. The index was created and maintained by the First District Court in Rich County after statehood, but includes cases heard by the County Probate Court during the territorial period prior to 1896. Matters of probate include estates of deceased persons, guardianship of minors and people deemed incompetent, and adoptions. This index contain such information as the names of involved parties, the type of probate case, and the case number.
