Scope and Content
This series consists of a ledger book documenting stray animals picked up by the city. The ledger was used to document which animals were taken in, the expenses involved in keeping and housing each animal, and to whether the animal was claimed or sold. The ledger includes columns for recording such information as a description of the animal as well as any of its marks or brands, the sex of the animal, any damage caused by the animal, and the date when the animal was taken in. It also documents the expenses of keeping the animal, how much it was sold for, and any incidental expenses that were incurred. The record was kept intermittently, and the majority of the book is blank.

Generally chronological by date animal was taken in by officials.
Custody History
Castle Dale City transferred the records in this series to the State Archives in November 2016.
