Scope and Content
This series contains various records created by the court clerk in the course of processing naturalizations applications. The records include correspondence, applications, reports, petitions, notices of applications, declarations of intentions and certificates of naturalization in Carbon County. The correspondence is both incoming and outgoing and relates to the naturalization process. The applications include information related to individual applicants who are applying for naturalization. The reports are copies of typed forms that include statistical and fianancial information which were sent to the U.S. Department of Labor Naturalization Service. The petitions include information related to individuals who are applying for naturalization. The notices of applications were publicly posted lists of naturalization applicants and their respective information which also specifies whether they were approved or denied. The declarations of intentions relate to individual applicants for naturalization who plan to renounce the leader of their home country in order to become naturalized. The certificates of naturalization include information related to newly naturalized individual citizens.
