Scope and Content
This series contains a compilation of both ordinances and resolutions adopted by the town council and the city council. The ordinances are legislative action to regulate, require, prohibit, govern, control, or supervise any activity, business, conduct, or condition in the city as authorized by UCA 10-3-701 to 715 (1997). Ordinances typically include a number, a title, preamble, an ordaining clause, the body or subject of ordinance, when applicable, penalty of violation, effective date, signature of mayor or acting mayor, and municipal seal. Many of the later ordinances have an attached certification of passage signed by the city recorder. Some of the ordinances have other attachments.
The resolutions are formal statements of a decision, or expression of opinion adopted by the council. They may perform a function similar to that of an ordinance. Resolutions often deal with such issues as the adoption of annual budgets, establishing water and sewer rates, charges for garbage collection and other municipal services, establishing policies and guidelines, and regulating the use and operation of municipal property (UCA 10-3-717 (1997)). Since many of the ordinances and resolutions deal with annexations and the approval of subdivisions, many are accompanied by maps.

Enoch City transferred the original paper records in this series dating from 1968-2007 to the State Archives in November 2014.
