Scope and Content
This alphabetical index for mining records was created by the Sevier County Recorder to facilitate access to the Mining Records. The series provides the instrument number, name of locators or grantors, name of claim or grantee, name of district or location, kind of instrument, when filed, record book, page number and remarks.

Chronological, thereunder alphabetical by name.
Research Note
A certain number of pages were allotted to each letter in the index and after the allotted space was filled, the index for that particular letter was continued on blank pages at the end of the book. As a result, researchers will need to check the index under both the alphabetical letter and at the end of the index to ensure finding all related records. Researchers should consult all the indexes to ensure finding all related materials for the mining operations they are researching.
