Scope and Content
This series contains the minutes, sworn statements, decisions, physician certificates, guardian oaths, and guardian bonds involving insanity cases heard by the Territorial Probate Court in Iron County. The cases include both decisions made by the court on an individual's sanity, as well as the settling of property for those found insane (and remanded to the State Hospital in Provo).
Individual cases heard by the court, that are recorded here, include David W. Patton (heard on November 15th, 1886), John Morton Chatterly (heard on August 22, 1891), Thomas Howarth (heard on January 16, 1894), and William James (heard on June 4th, 1895).
