Series 28373
Kingston (Utah) Town Hall progress reports
Dates: 1976.
These records are housed in the Utah State Archives' permanent storage room.
Historical Note
An agency history is available.
Scope and Content
This series contains reports on the construction work for the town hall. The town acquired the vacant school and renovated it for use as a municipal and community building for Kingston. It is not clear for whom the reports were created. They may have been submitted to the Town Council or some outside entity involved with providing financial or other support for the project. The reports outline work done over a number of months to remodel the building, including excavation of a mechanical room under the building, framing of new walls, electrical wiring, roofing, insulation, and a septic system. One report notes use of the building for various community functions as the building became usable, but was not yet completed.
Arrangement
Chronological by report date.
Custody History
The records in this series that were microfilmed in 2013 were in the possession of Leslie Nielsen, who had been involved with the renovation of the school for town use and who may have written the reports. The State Archives borrowed the records along with cemetery records in Mr. Nielsen's custody and returned the records to him after microfilming.
