Scope and Content

This series contains notebooks and files recording student attendance and performance. The records were created for all grade levels by teachers and administrators. Attendance and performance records tracked student progress throughout the school year. These notebooks and files contain such information as student names, dates of birth, addresses, parent names, and student attendance or tardiness. The records sometimes include other information such as number of miles a student traveled to school daily and student grades, reading levels, and progress reports.

Custody History

Crescent Elementary School transferred the records in this series dating from 1953-1966 and 1973-1979 to the State Archives in November 2018.

This series is classified as Exempt: These records are protected by the Family Educational Rights and Protections Act (FERPA), 34 CFR 99. This law protects the privacy of student education records, particularly in relation to student performance and evaluation..

Gaps in Series

Records in this series are incomplete and do not contain reports from every grade or class. Records from 1967-1972 did not come to the Archives.
