Scope and Content

These reports are presented to Governor Scott M. Matheson by the Agenda for the Eighties Steering Committee, consisting of prominent business people, civic leaders, and legislators. The Governor's objective was to identify problems and policies necessary for growth in the coming decade. The full Agenda for the Eighties Commission had 106 individuals, including at least three from each county. They were responsible for 39 public hearings held July 9, 1980 to solicit comments and engage the public. These comments were then incorporated in the work of the various task forces: Growth, Natural Resources, Social Services and Health, Education and Cultural Resources, and Public Services and Facilities.
