Scope and Content
The tenth census of the United States was conducted in June 1880 by the Department of Interior's Census Office. Five schedules were authorized by the 1880 Census Act including the Agricultural census. The agricultural statistics contained within the census were obtained within each state or territory through the personal visitation of each farm by an authorized enumerator of population within a given county, city or precinct.
Information collected in this census provides a comprehensive picture of agriculture in the Territory of Utah by county and includes: name of person who conducts the farm; number and size of farms and farm values; farm tenure; fence building and repair; hired labor; grass lands; number and type of livestock; cereal, fiber, and sugar production; orchards; vineyards; and forest products.
Arrangement
Alphabetical by county name.
