Scope and Content
This series contains two volumes used to document publication of ordinances and notices related to other city actions, such as the extension of water mains, sewers, and sidewalks. The records were created to document compliance with laws requiring publication of such notices.
The proof of publication typically includes a newspaper clipping of the published notice, a note of the newspaper where the notice appeared, the cost of publication, and a notarized, signed statement from the newspapers publisher. In the first volume all the information is handwritten, while the second volume contains pre-printed forms for filling in information.
Arrangement
Roughly numerical by bill number and generally chronological by date.
Custody History
Salt Lake City Recorder transferred these records to the State Archives in January 2014.
