Scope and Content
These records document a millennial time capsule placed in the State Capitol Building for unsealing on the first day of the legislative session in 2100. The records include a listing of recipients of the book "Keepers of the Flame: Millennial Letters from Utah's Leaders"; correspondence on gathering the documents included in the time capsule; correspondence, speeches and news coverage in conjunction with placing the capsule in the south staircase of the state capitol building on Leavitt's inauguration on statehood day 4 January 2001; copies of letters included in the time capsule; and an ashwood box from uproooted trees on the capitol lawn following the tornado of 1999 which encases a copy of the book "Keepers of the Flame: Millennial Letters from Utah's Leaders."
