Scope and Content
The Washington County recorder created a name index to individuals whose names appear in abstract record books. This index consists of a list of the names followed by a running list of the book and page numbers where entries were made in the abstracts involving that individual.
Arrangement
Alphabetical by first letter of surname.
Entries are grouped alphabetically according to the first letter of surname. The names column is followed by a grid which identifies the first vowel after the beginning letter to enable easier searching of a long list.
