Scope and Content

These publications were used as tourist reference material. People from out of state often wrote to the planning board for information about interesting places to visit while vacationing in Utah. The series includes photos of Utah scenery; a pamphlet: "Salt Lake City, 7 Wonderful one-day trips in and around Salt Lake City and Utah;" excerpts from "Utah the Unique;" a pamphlet entitled "Wealth of the Uintah Basin;" a pamphlet entitled, "Utah-The Rainbow Land;" and a book describing a planned railway journey from Grand River, Colorado to Salt Lake City, Utah with many photos of Utah scenery.

Cooperation between the U.S. Travel Bureau and the Planning Board resulted in hundreds of requests for information about Utah's tourist attractions. Tourist literature and information on hotel and trailer and cabin camp accommodations, sports, hunting and fishing, scenic attractions, highways, transportation and historical interests had been sent to tourists interested in vacationing in Utah.
