Scope and Content
These reference reports were created by or for the Utah State Planning Board and function as preliminary inventories of the agency's work. Included is an organizational chart from the National Planning Agency; bibliographies and lists of documents used in research; histories of the origin and mission of the board; an index of maps created by the agency; a comprehensive list of reports and corresponding maps; a review of completed reports until 1936; a list of the contents of the agency library in 1936; newspaper clippings; and a copy of the act that created the State Planning Board.
The State Planning Board was created to develop, formulate, and propose plans for the material, economic, and social development of the State. It was primarily an advisory board that generated reports to assist the governor.
