Scope and Content
The first "Governor's Prayer Breakfast" meeting was held in 1962, during Governor Clyde's administration. Prayer breakfasts were started with the intent of providing spiritual and moral guidance to prominent community members of Utah. Lists of breakfast attendees were retained in order to facilitate the organization of the following year's event. This series contains invitations to prayer breakfasts, lists of press members and invitees, and related correspondence for prayer breakfasts held during Clyde's last administration and during Governor Rampton's three terms. The records were preserved by Governor Rampton and his staff.
