Scope and Content

This series contains the minutes which serve as the official record of State Land Board meetings. The State Land Board was created in 1896 and charged with the responsibility of selling land grants and investing the proceeds for the interest of designated public institutions. These records include business discussed at meetings, correspondence received by the board, information about the organization's accounts, and abstracts of applications for land sales and leases considered by the board.

Custody History

As the State Land Board's successor, the School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration (SITLA) inherited the records in this series. SITLA transferred volumes in this series dating from 1896-1898 and 1913-1921, and microfilm copies of volumes dating from 1896-1973 to the State Archives in November 2018.
