Scope and Content
This volume records property tax collections made in 1880 or later for amounts assessed in 1875 through 1879. Using an abstract roll book, the collector entered the individual's name; ward number or name; amount of tax assessed for each year from 1875 to 1879, inclusive; amount paid; date paid; and name of payer, sometimes with remarks. Not all assessments made in those years are recorded in this register: Apparently these are just for collections on past due accounts.
Arrangement
Geographically by ward, thereunder alphabetically by first letter of the individual's surname.

Custody History
These records were transferred to the State Archives by the county before the creation of the Salt Lake County Archives. Hard copy was returned to the County Archives in August 2001; a microfilm reference copy was retained by the Utah State Archives.

Processing Note
This volume was microfilmed by the Utah State Archives in 1970. The series was archivally processed by A.C. Cone in September 1997. The hard copy of the volume, and a copy of the microfilm, was transferred to the Salt Lake County Archives in August 2001.
