Scope and Content
Mining records, which constitute a legal record, are kept for the purpose of monitoring and registering mining claims and operations. This series contains notices of location which provide the name of the claim, locators, location, legal description and the mining district.

Research Note
This series contains records prior to the creation of Duchesne County in 1915. Records were copies from the Wasatch County Recorder for mining claims now located in Duchesne County.

Mining records were first scheduled as permanent records in 1971. The mining records were filmed by the Duchesne County Recorder in 1996 and 1997. The entire series was archivally processed by David Clark in November 1999.
