Scope and Content
Probate indices provide access to Salt Lake County probate records, i.e., those cases involving the estates of deceased persons, the guardianship of minors and the incompetent, adoptions and name changes. The indices include year, individual's name, probate case number, and the estate register book number and page numbers.

Processing Note
The indices were filmed by the Archives in 1979. If a single volume is split between two reels of film, the end of one reel and the beginning of the next will slightly overlap; the duplication is not noted in the container list. The series was archivally processed by David Clark in March 1998.
