Scope and Content

These are clippings on topics relating to Utah or Governor Bangerter. The Governor's office subscribed to a number of professional clipping services. Included are newspaper clippings, magazine clippings, and news clips (brief written summaries) of coverage on radio or television. The clips come from papers and magazines around the country, but primarily from Utah. The clippings were reference and reading files distributed to key staff in the Governor's office to help determine and review policy and the Governor's political standing.

Arrangement

The series is arranged chronologically by month and year. Undated materials appear at the beginning of reel 1 and at the ends of reels 5 and 13. October 1984 follows November 1984. Occasionally clippings of one year will be filed with the same month of another year, and many January 1986 clippings are mixed with December 1986 clippings (which also contain some December 1985 clippings).

Processing Note

These clippings were accessioned into the records center in 1992, intermingled with series 13698 and 10189 which were separated. Initially some clippings were sorted by topic and later integrated into a chronological pattern. The description was written by A.C. Cone in August 1994 and clippings were destroyed following filming.
