These are the journals kept by the Legislative Assembly of the Territory of Utah. They include journal record books from the House and the Council (which became the Senate upon statehood). The Council journal record books also include joint sessions.

House Journal record books, 1858-1878 Series 16660

These two volumes contain the journal entries for the territorial legislative house from the eighth session through the twenty-third session. They constitute the handwritten minutes of the house proceedings. The legislature began keeping journals shortly after the creation of the territory in 1850.

Legislative Council Journal record books, 1858-1882 Series 3167

These two volumes contain the journal entries for the territorial legislative council, or senate, from the eighth session through the twenty-fifth session. They constitute the handwritten minutes of the council's proceedings. The legislature began keeping journals shortly after the creation of the territory in 1850.
