Records documenting the incorporation of cities and towns in Utah. The bulk of this collection is drawn from the records of the Lieutenant Governor, additional records will be added from other sources, such as county records, as they are identified.

Lieutenant Governor City and town information files (incorporation papers) Series 20220

This series contains documents filed with the Secretary of State / Lieutenant Governor relating to the legal incorporation of cities and towns in the state. The records may include petitions for incorporation, articles of incorporation and amended articles of incorporation, annexation documentation, disconnection petitions, records of change of class, and maps showing municipal plats and boundaries. Records were kept in two distinct sets ending first in 2003 and then restarting with some of the same city and town names in 2007.
